Adam & Company is the parent enterprise of a Golapganj-based family business group. What began as a single commercial venture beside the Chowmuhoni crossing has grown, generation by generation, into a group serving thousands of families across the Sylhet region.
The group's philosophy has never changed: invest in your own soil, deal honestly, and build things that outlast you. Today, that philosophy takes shape through three subsidiaries — Emma Housing, Emma Market and Mujib & Sons — each led with the same care the founder brought to his first shopfront.
In the 1965s, when most ambition in Sylhet looked abroad, Mujibur Rahman Choudhury looked home. He transformed a modest investment into a foundational commercial landmark of Golapganj — laying the first stone of Emma Market in 1976 and, with it, the foundation of everything the group has become.
Half a century later, his establishment stands as a symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit of the local community, now stewarded by the second generation of the family.
